Cette publication est une proposition fait par David Bergé, de la catalogue Bialetti jamais réalisée. Elle offre un regard approfondi dans la production de ces machines, enrichis par des commentaires de la famille Bialetti, des travailleurs d'usines, des secrétaires et des représentants syndicales.

  This book explores the emergence of the artist and designer profession after the First World War and the further development of this career in close proximity to capitalist industrial production. The book features articles on teaching models pioneered by schools like the Design Laboratory, New York (the first comprehensive school of modernist design in the United States that was open to general enrollment); the School of Arts and Crafts (Škola umeleckých remesiel), Bratislava; the Ulm School of Design (Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm), Germany; and Industrial Design College (Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial), Rio de Janeiro.
  These texts are accompanied by essays and conversations on design pedagogy's politics, practices and self-understanding. This book is part of the Schools of Departure series, jointly published with a digital atlas that aggregates research on the global interconnections of Bauhaus pedagogy with reform projects in art and design education in the 20th century.   Heinz Hirdina gilt als der wichtigste Designtheoretiker der DDR. Zwischen 1988 und 2004 hielt er als Professor an der Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee Vorlesungen zur Theorie und Geschichte des Designs, die Spector Books nun gemeinsam mit der Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau in drei Bänden herausgibt. In Band 2 beleuchtet Hirdina zunächst das grundsätzliche Verhältnis zwischen Design und Kunst im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert und schlägt dann eine Brücke zum ökologischen Design. Dabei werden zwei Pole der Designentwicklung des späten 20. Jahrhunderts einander gegenübergestellt: Design in Italien und in Japan. Die Vorlesungen in Band 3 widmen sich in chronologischer Folge den internationalen Designströmungen seit dem 19. Together with the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, Spector Books is publishing a three-volume set of the lectures on the Theory and History of Design that Heinz Hirdina held between 1988 and 2004 when he was professor at the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin. In volume 2, Hirdina examines the fundamental relationship between design and art in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and ties this in with ecological design. The book juxtaposes two poles in late-twentieth century design, mapping developments in Italy and Japan. The lectures in volume 3 focus in a chronological sequence on the movements in international design since the nineteenth century: from Michael Thonet, the Chicago School in the USA, Russian constructivism, the Werkbund and Bauhaus in Germany, and de Stijl in the Netherlands all the way to Alvar Aalto in Scandinavia and postmodern design in Italy in the 1970s.
